In 2022, I spiraled into a dark episode of mania, feeling crushed by stress and struggling at work. One day, I walked into a bank with -$40 in my account, tears streaming down my face. Though they reassured me, I felt broken and invisible, like the world was moving on without me. Dark thoughts flooded my mind, and I imagined stepping in front of a car, convinced no one cared. Desperate, I called the National Suicide Hotline and admitted, “I want to die.” Soon after, the police arrived, and for the first time, I felt seen. I was taken to a mental hospital, overwhelmed by fear and hopelessness. I felt like a prisoner, lost and purposeless. Gradually, I started to open up and connect with others, rediscovering a sense of self. I began reading the Bible, finding solace in God’s presence, even amidst despair. One night, as I contemplated harming myself, I heard a clear voice say, “STOP. I need you to stay.” In that moment, I chose to listen.Now, I understand that God had a purpose for me. My mom and I created a clothing brand called “Stay,” featuring a cross as the “T.” This symbolizes His sacrifice and the life He offers us. We all have a purpose, and part of that is to stay and discover what He has planned for our lives.
